(Russian name: Schasselwa)

Chasselois, Russia was a Volga village located between Mariental and Louis. It was established in 1766 and destroyed
in 1771 by the Kirghiz Kaissak. Many of the survivers fled to Mariental, Louis, and a few to other villages. Prior to 1786,
the Saratov Treasury Chamber gave the Village of Louis possession of this land because so many of the Chasselois survivors
moved to that village. This included 1628 desyatina of tillable land, and 22 desyatina of forest.
